Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Prompteer (“the app”) does with your information. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

The short version: your learning progress never leaves your phone. The app shows ads and offers one optional purchase, and those two features — both operated by Google — involve some data leaving your device. Nothing else does.

Who is responsible

Prompteer is published by an independent developer based in Greece. For any privacy question, correction, or deletion request, contact: jimsindev@gmail.com.

What stays on your device

All of your learning data is stored locally, on your phone only. It is never transmitted to us, and we have no server that could receive it. This includes:

which lessons you have completed, and whether you completed them perfectly;
your XP totals and daily activity history;
your current and longest streak, and any streak freezes;
per-exercise results (how often you answered each one correctly), used to choose what appears in Practice mode;
your chosen daily goal, and which optional packs you have unlocked;
anything you type into a practice exercise. Typed prompts are graded on your device by a built-in checklist and are never uploaded anywhere.

Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. There is no account, no sign-in, and no cloud backup operated by us.

What is collected by third parties

Google AdMob (advertising)

The app shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. To serve and measure those ads, Google may collect and process:

your device’s advertising ID (a resettable identifier you control in your Android settings);
your approximate location, derived from your IP address;
device and app information such as model, operating system version, and the app package name;
ad interaction data — whether an ad was shown, viewed, or tapped.

Google acts as an independent controller of this data. Its handling is described at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in the Google Privacy Policy.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, using Google’s User Messaging Platform. You may choose non-personalised ads, and you can change your choice at any time from the app’s privacy settings. Non-personalised ads still require basic data such as your IP address in order to be delivered and to limit repetition.

Google Play Billing (the optional purchase)

Prompteer offers one optional one-time purchase that removes ads. The transaction is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your name, address, or payment details — the app only asks Google whether this device owns the purchase, and receives yes or no.

Google Play (app distribution)

Google Play collects aggregate statistics about installs, crashes, and performance. We can see these only as anonymous, aggregated reports. See the Google Privacy Policy.

Permissions the app requests

Permission	Why it is needed
`INTERNET`	Required by AdMob and Google Play Billing. Lesson content is bundled in the app and is never downloaded.
`ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE`	Lets the ad library check whether a connection exists before requesting an ad.
`AD_ID`	Allows access to the advertising ID for ad delivery, as required by Google Play policy.

The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, files, precise location, or any other sensitive permission.

Legal basis (EEA and UK users)

Consent — for personalised advertising, collected through the consent dialog described above and withdrawable at any time.
Legitimate interests — for showing non-personalised ads, preventing fraud, and basic aggregate analytics.
Contract — for processing the optional purchase.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. Because we hold no personal data ourselves, most requests are directed to Google:

Advertising data: reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, and manage your preferences at Google My Ad Center.
Purchase data: managed through your Google Play account.
Everything stored by the app: uninstall it, or clear the app’s storage in Android Settings. Both delete all of it permanently.

You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority. In Greece, this is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr).

Data retention

We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. Data held on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Data held by Google is retained according to Google’s own policies.

Children

Prompteer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, contact us and we will help you address it with Google.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Material changes affecting how data is handled will also be noted in the app’s release notes on Google Play.
